Oyster Yachts has unveiled the Oyster 36M, a new 36-metre monohull sailing superyacht developed with Frers Naval Architecture & Engineering. Presented at the Monaco Yacht Show on 24 September 2026, the flagship combines an interior concept by Milan-based m2atelier with a platform designed for extended ocean cruising.

A monohull flagship after the C60 announcement

The 36M follows the Oyster C60 sailing catamaran announced at Cannes earlier in September. While the C60 opens a new segment for the yard, Oyster says monohulls remain central to its range. The 36M gives that strategy a new flagship, with scope to personalise accommodation and equipment within a defined hull and engineering platform.

Oyster CEO Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke says the project draws on owners’ experiences and requirements. For designer Mani Frers, the aim is to combine the individuality of a custom sailing superyacht with the protection, comfort and practical requirements of long-distance cruising.

From a forward retreat to “The Island”

A configurable relaxation area at the bow can include sun protection and an optional jacuzzi. At the stern, the cockpit and beach club centre on “The Island”: a platform that lowers to provide access to the sea or rises to form an additional terrace. An optional side boarding platform offers another access point nearer the middle of the yacht.

The panoramic saloon connects to the cockpit through a sliding glass partition. Oyster describes a single-level flow through the principal living spaces, allowing the sheltered interior and outdoor areas to work together in different weather conditions.

Three, four or five cabins

The accommodation can be arranged with three, four or five cabins. Owners can select interior layouts, materials and finishes, as well as deck hardware, sail plans, keel and anchor options, and equipment for watersports and exploration. The interior concept is by m2atelier.

Designed for time away from marinas

The Frers hull combines a deep-V bow with a wide stern. According to Oyster, the design targets comfortable sailing at low heel angles and performance in light winds, alongside the demands of ocean passages. Large tanks, storage for spares, accessible systems and a garage for diving and sports equipment are intended to support longer periods away from shore facilities.

Owners will also have access to Oyster’s Global Service Network, After Sales team and Bluewater Academy, plus the Oyster World Rally, Explorers Club and other events.
